@tunabrine you're on the right lines but you're wrong about using stock loops. These glitch artists are beyond using stock loops to produce music, they go out of their way to create atmospheres using synthesizers and software, then sample things here and there to layer onto the atmospheres. The arrangement of the different aspects is generally done in software, such as Ableton. "Loops" connotes building blocks formed by someone else, which is incorrect here. The "loops" are created by the artist - a series of repeating atmospheres (hence, drone) and there may be a use of highly modified sounds (like a plane taking off filtered, pitch changed and sped up massively) to make the short 'glitch' sounds that are synonymous with glitch and drone. Samples can be used to further enhance the track; microsampling (like very short granular synthesis) is also another way of making glitchy sounds. On the rare occasion there may be a stock loop but overall the track is hand crafted, bit by bit.

IMHO- It's not the kit used that's important it's the creative spark that puts it together... atmospheric track

@vegaspimp22, basically a bunch of ambient loops, samples, sound FX loops. Compose in Ableton or something. Native Instruments would have those loops.
