Grand National es una banda de indie formada por un duo londinense:Rupert Lyddon y Lawrence ‘La’ Rudd.
Han tomado sus influencias desde sus bandas previas, covers de Police/Sting. Mezclan el pop ochentero, dance de los noventas, indie, electro y ska, en frescas y experimentales canciones de pop.
‘Kicking the national habit’ es su opera prima. Cuentan con el aval de los compadres de Bobby Gillespie y su disco revive al pop británico mas festivo. Ese que siempre comienza con The Kinks. Madness, XTC, Blur, Bis o bandas olvidadas (cuando no ignotas) como Yummy Fur o Experimental Pop Band pueden servir como referencia para quienes aun no se enfrentaron a este delicioso álbum.
En septiembre de 2007 salió su nuevo disco, «A drink and a quick decision»
