Can't swear that this is Shearing (I'm worried by Welljamon below), but this seems to be lighter than the Garner I remember). Still a nice track.

The track lullaby of birdland undr george shearing's name is actually erroll garner .... from compact jazz is the only way I can identify it by a line on the window. Trust me on this. Take a look and see what you think. I am listening to garner playing lullaby of birdland. This piece goes back quite a few years. I thiink shearing's rendition involves strings, may be on red carpet release or something, I forget.

This was the man who first attracted me to "modern Jazz" The style was beautifully smooth and just "flowed" . Easy listening I suppose. This track is probably his most famous and got a lot of radio time before record programmes were the norm and american jazz records just about unobtainable in Britain. Jazz owes a lot to George but probably doesn't realise it
