Only a genius like Gabriel can create lyrics for a song that mixes Romeo and Juliet with the mythical Tiresias. He's one of the best lyricists ever.

Beginning at 6:08 this piece of music is simply amazing. On Selling England by the Pound I consider this to be not only the highlight of all progressive rock, but also possibly of all music I've ever heard. Once again I got shivers running up and down my spine listening to this. Wonderful.

Such good memories. Holy shit there's a lot of shouts on this track. Still not enough, though.

I first heard this when I was 12 - I am now 50 and I still love it! (BilltheBeard below - Bruford's minimalist drumming during the first section on 'Seconds Out' is sublime)

Clearly this isn't the "Seconds Out" version, but the studio version with Peter Gabriel on vocals. Love the complex time changes within this song. How they went from this to I Can't Dance baffles me. They are all great musicians. I would have thought there last efforts would have bored them to tears. ( tsw630 October 2011) [2] - I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANY OF THE SECONDS OUT ALBUM ON LASTFM - PLENTY OF CLAIMS BUT NEVER DELIVERED
