Flipsyde es una banda de rap/R&B/rock procedente de Oakland, California. Sus miembros son Steve Knight, Dave Lopez, Jinho «the Piper» Ferreira, y Chantelle Paige. Han realizado diversas giras con Fort Minor, The Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg y fueron al Anger Management Tour. El single de Flipsyde, «Someday» fue elegido como tema para la cadena NBC para los Juegos de Invierno de 2006 de Torino, Italia. Su primer disco, «We the People», tenía otras tres canciones («Happy Birthday», «Trumpets (Never Be The Same Again)», y «Angel») y fue alabado por las críticas, incluyendo una crónica del Washington Post proclamandolo como el mejor disco de hip hop del año 2006.
In 2008, following the addition of Paige to the group, Flipsyde once again had a song of theirs selected as a theme song for the Olympics. They enjoy touring in India, where their first tour took place in 2005 via Vh1’s Hip Hop Hustle, and have already performed there twice and may be planning a third trip. Recently it was announced on their MySpace page that they had started touring with Akon, promoting their second sudio album, State of Survival, produced by Akon and Konvict Muzik. The album will be released in March of 2009 via Kon Live Distribution and Cherrytree Records, and Akon will feature on 3 tracks.
