1492. As children we were taught to memorize this year with pride and joy as the year people began living full and imaginative lives on the continent of North America. Actually, people had been living full and imaginative lives on the continent of North America for hundreds of years before that. 1492 was simply the year sea pirates began to rob, cheat, and kill them.

The original and best version of Christopher Columbus with Roy Eldridge on trumpet and Chu Berry (the composer) on tenor sax.

Ошибка! Это Ellington - Take the "A" Train; и все это знают.

You're all wrong. It's Henderson playing Christopher Columbus at the end of a broadcast b/c he was using it as a theme song and used it to sign off here for the broadcast.. Whoever sampled the track from the CD did it wrong. You shoud be thrilled that you re hearing Henderson live n such good sound.

i agree completely. I wasn't much paying attention until I was asked the name of the song. Without thinking, I said, TAKE THE A TRAIN. . . and who the fuck is Christopher Columbus?

This sounds an awful lot like Take The 'A' Train. I don't think this track is labelled correctly? Not certain but don't think this is the Henderson band either.
