Con ‘’The End Of History’’ (06), el joven cantautor dublinés Fionn Regan se estrena como un songwriter eminentemente poético. Practicando una poesía contemporánea teñida con un refinado sentido del humor, su lírica está puntuada por algunas obsesiones, como la infancia y la geografía, para dar forma a frágiles arquitecturas de música ingrávida, pequeños himnos bucólicos fuera del tiempo y del espacio. Canciones felizmente desnudas que afloran en toda su desgarradora sinceridad de la mano de acordes de guitarra hipnóticos, melodías considerables y una voz angelical que se acompaña puntualmente de un discreto cello, un piano acariciado o unos toques de percusión rozados con la yema de los dedos. El romanticismo otoñal y cotidiano que destila Regan se mira en la melancolía del spleen de Baudelaire, en la de la saudade brasileña, o en la de Jeff Buckley y Leonard Cohen, para asemejarse al nu-folk inquieto e intimista de talentosos americanos como Andrew Bird, Richard Swift o M Ward.

First listening allready of the new album. Just what i expected, all in the line of the songs that Regan revealed ago (protection racket and catacombs). I don't know why are people surprised of the turn that the music of the album has. It's something that you can see it comming. And not only in this album. He has allready done it in Hotel Room Ep. Not many people knows that he comes from being plugged-in, then he plugged out, and got back plugged in. For me is a great album. I keep listening it, to know it better.
