Hacia finales de los 80 cinco fumetas «degenerados» de Louissiana se juntaron y, mientras la mayoría de los grupos de aquel sitio entonces hacían thrash metal clásico, estos se empeñaban en tocar lo más alto y más lento que pudieran. Había nacido uno de los grupos más intensos y «trastornados» de la década, EYEHATEGOD. Desde entonces, nos han ofrecido cuatro joyas, y unos cuantos LP’s, 7» y EP’s, que tienen el honor de ser las obras del Metal y Hardcore más intensas y llenas de sentimiento que, posiblemente, se hayan hecho en mucho tiempo. Cada disco de EYEHATEGOD es una amalgama de sentimientos (no olvidemos que el odio, la frustración y la depresión son también sentimientos) y un muro de sonido infranqueable. Sus señas de identidad: feedbacks de guitarra que taladran el oido, riffs pesados y deeeeeeensos a lo Black Sabbath mezclados con otros más punketas/hardcorianos, sonido muy crudo, producción muy sucia, una línea de bajo con los graves al máximo, batería ralentizada, afinaciones graves y uno de los cantantes más locos y más yonkis, con la voz más rasgada y agonizante que se ha escuchado, comparable en brutalidad (en su estilo) y agresividad a la de cualquier cantante de Brutal Death Metal (en realidad Mike Williams más que cantar parece que se desahoga). Sus más importantes influencias: los riffs oscuros de los primeros Black Sabbath, St. Vitus, y la agresividad y mala hostia de Discharge o los primeros Black Flag, pero elevado al infinito.
