Con esta frase empiezan muchos conciertos de esta banda formada en Austin, Texas. La música de Explosions in the Sky se mueve entre el post-rock instrumental, el minimalismo y el art-rock. Sus canciones están compuestas de bellas melodías, largos in-crescendos y finales apoteósicos.

Su formación original se mantiene, con Munaf Rayani y Mark Smith a la guitarra, Michael James alternando bajo y guitarra y Chris Hrasky a la batería. Actualmente se encuentran en un periodo de hiato, que posiblemente se alargará durante un año.
