Last year I started to write short reviews for the albums that I'd been listening to the most during each month. My latest journal entry was for July, so here are the remaining 5 albums of the month.

CMX - Cloaca Maxima II (compilation)

CMX is, together with Mokoma and Viikate, one of my favourite finnish bands. This compilation includes hits from 1998's Vainajala to 2003's Aion. This is the era, that I thing was their golden days and includes their best albums in my opinion (with the exception of their 2007 release Talvikuningas).

This compilation is divided to 3 cd's: Lead contains the rock songs, Helium has all the ballads and Uranium has b-sides and other oddities and is by far the most interesting disc of the compilation.

This is probably best way to introduce CMX to someone, who has never heard of them. It has all the classics from their more "approachable" era and shows how diverse CMX really is.
