Alice Edun was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia to a Nigerian father and a Russian mother. At the age of five she moved to Africa with her family, where she became invoved with Gospel music by joining her school and baptist church choirs. After Edun moved to Italy in 1998, she made Gospel her full time profession and got her major break by taking part in the Milan Gospel Festival that same year. Edun also began expanding her musical interest afterwards by experimenting with other secular music styles while performing across Europe. In addition to performing, Edun is also involved in backing vocal work for other artists and for various television programs.

In 2005 Edun made her first recording debut as the featured vocalist on the track «Who’s Knockin?» by FB (AKA Ferry Corsten and Benny Benassi). That same year she also made her solo debut with «Put ‘Em Up», a track written by Sannie Carlson and produced by Igor Farvetto. «Put ‘Em Up» would end up becoming a sleeper Dance anthem globally two years later, especially in the United States, where «Put ‘Em Up» is already her biggest breakthrough hit on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart, where it peaked at number 2 in its August 25, 2007 issue.
