Down es un grupo norteamericano que practica un Rock que podriamos clasificar como Rock pesado o Stoner Rock (Rock Fumado) por las muchas alusiones al consumo de cannabis en sus canciones, sin dejar de ser una banda de rock duro, combinan en su música influencias de Black Sabbath y de música Country y Blues.
Formado por Phil Anselmo en 1991 (cantante de Pantera y Superjoint Ritual) y contando con estrellas de otras bandas muy conocidas de la escena alternativa norteamericana, Pepper Keenan de Corrosion of Conformity, Rex Brown (bajista de Pantera), Kirk Windstein (guitarrista de Crowbar) y Jimmy Bower (guitarrista de EYEHATEGOD)
Han editado hasta la fecha 3 discos, Nola (1995), Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow (2002) y Down III: Over The Under (2007).
