Though I love this album, it is not Dio's strongest. Some of the songs are very good (King of Rock 'n' Roll, Like The Beat Of A Heart, Hungry For Heaven, Rock 'n' Roll Children), and my favorite Dio tune ever is on this (Sacred Heart), but the rest (apart from possibly Just Another Day) feel pretty much like fillers. Not bad songs, but not really too good by Dio's standards. I also agree with the comment below - Shoot Shoot has a lame (Dio's lamest) chorus ever. It feels really uninspired and poor.

Not a bad album but no one's favourite. I agree with what was stated below, there's not much memorable stuff on this album, especially when compared to the first two and the post-Sacred Heart albums.

Hungry For Heaven is a great song! Very much in the style of Mystery from the previous album, quite commercial but that's not as bad as people make out, it's still kick ass. Also love the promo videos from this period which very much had Dio's "Dungeons and Dragons" feel to them. :)

This album is chock full of filler. RJD's vocals are superb, but what's new there, he always sounds amazing. If only the lyrical subject matter and instrumentation could measure up. By and large, they do not. "King of Rock and Roll" is a very raucous and solid, if unspectacular opener, "Rock 'n' Roll Children" is a memorable tune, and "Sacred Heart" comes closest of anything on this record to being a classic. "Another Lie" has some good things going on, but just misses the mark. The rest of the album is pretty weak. "Hungry For Heaven" and "Shoot Shoot" are some of the more disappointing songs Dio ever put out. I'd say listen to the first four tracks and forget about the rest.

Fact of the matter is this was a great album. I think it was commercial but it was obvious that he was looking to expand his audience with it and the air play this album brought him on MTV. Looking back I think I saw Rock 'N' Roll Children like a Million times.

Of the older albums, this is my least favourite. Just a little too commercial sounding imo. Though some great songs on it, the opener is absolutely fabulous...

all dio albums are great apart from angry machines which i personally didnt like RJDs angry style although "this is your life" saves the whole album.

All albums up to and including Lock Up The Wolves are incredibly awesome. Including this one, too of course.

Still on the look out for this album, I have Holy Diver and Dream Evil. I love the first 4 albums and TBH couldn't care less for any after that although some tracks are pretty awesome but his recent albums don't pack the punch of his first 4 albums.

Haha, no, not christian rock. RJD claims he took the name from a mobster:)

I haven't listened to Dio since like 1988 but I seem to love it again. Question, are they Christian rock, never really thought about Hungry for Heaven and even the name Dio, pretty corny but I love it again.

This is an awesome album. I can't believe why it's so low! I like it so much that I bought it (about 2,5-3 years ago). Awesome. Somewhere in the top-4.
