Grupo de metal gótico fundado por Martijn Westerholt, ex-teclista de Within Temptation.
Su album debut se titula Lucidity y apareció en el 2007, en él colaboraban artistas como Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Liv Kristine (Leaves’ Eyes), el guitarrista Ad Sluyter (Epica), el bajista Marco Hietala (Tarot, Nightwish), el bateria Ariën van Weezenbeek (God Dethroned), el cantante George Oosthoek y el guitarrista Guus Eikens (ex-Orphanage).
El álbum está grabado en Alemania, Finlandia, Suecia y en los Países bajos con Oliver Phillips y el mismo Martijn comoproductores y Stefan Helleblad (Opeth, Rammstein and Dark Funeral) realizando las mezclas.
La mayor parte de los temas estan compuesto por Martijn e interpretados magnificamente por Charlotte, amiga de Martijn.
En Delain predominan los teclados, coros y cambios de tiempo, a los que se les unen guitarras “Heavy”, baterías rápidas y unas buenas melodías.
Con el lanzamiento del album se presentó tambien el single Frozen, un gran tema que sirvió de estupenda presentación del disco.
