Not just one of the best covers ever, not just one of those extremely rare covers that improves by leaps and bounds on the original, not just a brilliant reinterpretation of a song that unlocks the meaning that was always hiding within it, but also truly one of the best songs ever.

Don't get many covers as good as an original, this for me is as good as Soft Cell, and oddly it fits into the content of White Ladder as if it had been written by David Gray, bought it when it came out way back still play it regularly.

Finally found someone who this song is for :'( What a waste. "Take your hands off me, hey, I don't belong to you, you see, And take a look in my face, for the last time". I never knew you, you never knew me, Say hello goodbye, Say hello and wave goodbye,

Very true, naxapinu nailed it, its an interpretation not a cover as such. different chord changes and completely dif sound and feel. I am a soft cell fan, so I do still prefer the original, but this is a beautiful song for what it is xx

i still much rather perfer the original, but it depends on the version. theres about 4 different Soft Cell recordings of this from live sets, the original, the re-recording, the re-re-recording thats on the greatest hits... this is good, but my heart is with the original :) x
