Fué durante la complicada crisis de principios de los años 90, en 1993, cuando Dark Moor empieza a nacer de la mano de Enrik García.
En1999 Dark Moor consigue su primer contrato discográfico. Es el momento de grabar su primer álbum, “Shadowland”, gracias al interés de Arise Records, que les hace fieles a este sello para lanzar sus trabajos posteriores.
El disco consigue unos resultados muy superiores a los esperados, llegando incluso a ser editado en Centroeuropa o Brasil, y abriéndole al grupo la puerta para hacer una memorable gira en España con Demons & Wizards.
En agosto de 2000 la banda graba su confirmación internacional, “The Hall of the Olden Dreams”, y comienza también una fiel relación con su productor Luigi Stefanini, quien estará detrás de muchos de sus futuros proyectos.
En la gira posterior la banda incluye algunos festivales con gran éxito, como fueron Viña Rock y Mijas Rock. Recibió algunos premios de la crítica y además participó en el disco tributo a Helloween “The Keepers of Jerico” con el tema “Halloween”, una versión con la que la banda consiguió el respeto y el reconocimiento de medio mundo y que también saldría publicada en el EP The Fall of Melniboné para España.

vv I know, but Elisa was sort of what made Dark Moor what they were to me. Her voice is very unique and powerful. Instrumentally they did fall apart though, and I'm not sure whose fault that is. But alas, we still have Dreamaker and Fairyland and everything else.

Well, they lost two other members as well, it wasn't just Elisa. At the moment I'm liking Autumnal best out of the post-Elisa albums but I still haven't listened to them all the way through.

Intro is great, every song is great in fact :) Elisa's vocals are much better, the songwriting is much more interesting... Silver Lake is the highlight, for me, definitely one of my favourite Dark Moor songs :)

(Previously I just stuck them on playlists with everyone else and hit shuffle) Shadowland... kind of sucks xD Well, it's not BAD, but Elisa's voice is nothing special imo, songs are similar and don't have much to save them and wth is with that intro, it's the most pointless intro ever! They might as well have stuck those 36 seconds on the start of the second track. Calling on the Wind was pretty nice though :)

At times Alfred sounds really good and his voice generally fits those albums but overall I think he can sound quite weak. Still Beyond The Sea is one of my favorite power metal albums. Such an awesome band.
