Danzig es un grupo de heavy metal, fundado por su vocalista Glenn Danzig en 1987 tras su salida de The Misfits y Samhain.
La alineación original estaba conformada por Chuck Biscuits en batería, John Christ en guitarra, Eerie Von en bajo, y Glenn Danzig en voz. Aunque técnicamente se podrían clasificar como heavy metal, sus primeros discos tienen profundas influencias de blues. La voz de Glenn Danzig es grave, profunda y potente, con un timbre que recuerda en algunas de sus canciones a Elvis Presley o a Jim Morrison. Su música, está inspirada en el satanismo, es lenta en ocasiones y llena de letras y ambientes oscuros que recuerdan mucho al movimiento gótico, aún cuando muchos no lo sitúan propiamente dentro del mismo, sin dejar de tener la potencia del metal. La crítica suele considerar a las bandas anteriores de Danzig (Misfits y Samhain), como precursoras del gótico, aunque son claramente anteriores al mismo.
A partir del álbum Blackacidevil, comenzaron a utilizar sintetizadores y experimentar con música electrónica generando cierto descontento de los fanáticos originales, aunque como el mismo Danzig ha dicho está acostumbrado a eso. Cada año exhiben un concierto el 31 de octubre, durante el Samhain (año nuevo celta) o halloween.

Earlier today, everyone from AbsolutePunk.net to Entertainment Weekly reported that the former D.O.A. drummer—who left the music business in 1999—had died of throat cancer on October 24 after a long illness.
