Crowbar es un grupo norteamericano que practica rock pesado sureño desde Nueva Orleans. Su estilo se define también como «sludge metal», debido a la lentitud y cadencia de alguna de sus composiciones, si bien se alternan a menudo con rápidos riffs hardcore. Son considerados uno de los puntales de la escena metalera de Nueva Orleans.
En 1989 se formó la banda, entonces llamada The Slugs, y renombrada definitivamente como Crowbar en 1991. Kirk Windstein es el único miembro que ha permanecido desde el principio en el grupo y es considerado el alma del mismo.
