Keelhaul - Keelhauls Triumphant Return To Obscurity
This four piece rock/math/sludge/hardcore/whatever band are certainly no strangers to the scene, having played in awesome bands such as: Craw, La Gritona and Integrity, they sure as hell know what they are doing. Having released 3 juggernauts of albums in the past, I was anxiously looking forward to this one. I'm not disappointed and given my nature as an obnoxiously huge fan of this band, it's a big deal(or at least to me).
This record is packed with classic Keelhaul stuff, great angular riffs, sparsely used vocals, that always seem to pop up just in the right place and more of those "what the hell is the drummer doing?!?!" moments. Will Scharf plays like a fucking animal on this one. This guy, it's hard to explain what he does and why it's so good. It just is.
He's definitely an experience on his own and when you combine that with the extra cream, that is the rest of the band…
