    Well, actually this post deals with what I listened to last week but who cares. This might become something of a weekly tradition because I'm so nolife, etc.

    Soft Cell dominated the charts last week. I found the album Cruelty Without Beauty at the library. I was surprised at how good this comeback album is. It sounds like Soft Cell but it also sounds like the 21st century. It's a remarkable feat for a band that was disbanded for almost 20 years. Of course it's not as brilliant and flamboyant as Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret (which I have also listened to a lot), but a great album nonetheless. My favourite tracks are Darker Times and Monoculture, as you can see in the weekly tracks chart. As I predicted in my previous post, last week's play count put the band in the Artist Top 50 for the first time.

    Another leading band last week was clearly Mew. The album Frengers sounds better and better each time I listen to it. At first, I only liked the first three and the closing track. …
