City and Colour (formado en 2004) es el proyecto paralelo y en solitario de Dallas Green, originalmente miembro de Alexisonfire.
El nombre City and Colour proviene del nombre del autor: Dallas, una ciudad de EEUU, y Green, el color verde. Dallas declaró que se hubiera sentido incómodo al «sacar un álbum bajo su nombre».
Según el propio cantautor, comenzó a escribir material a los 13 años. En cuanto a las canciones publicadas en su primer álbum, «Sometimes», Dallas dijo que fueron escritas en su adolescencia, aunque realizó algunas modificaciones en 2005 para el álbum.
Dallas Green empezó su carrera en solitario al subir sus canciones en internet para los fans de Alexisonfire. Con el apoyo de ellos, que lo respaldaron en este proyecto paralelo, las canciones sufrieron algunos cambios para finalmente aparecer en Sometimes. El álbum debut salió a la venta en noviembre de 2005.
Apareció en un disco tributo a Neil Young («Borrowed Tunes II: A Tribute to Neil Young»).
