Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth and Bloodbath
You can't get enough of Opeth when you're into them. Listen to them and you'll hear why he is my vocalist and guitarist of choice. He is going to play the more melodic solos here. Some songs:
Serenity Painted Death, The Amen Corner, Death Whispered a Lullaby
John Petrucci from Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment
John Petrucci. He is the guy who is going to shred here. Some songs:
Scarred, When the Water Breaks, Beyond This Life
Tosin Abasi from Animals as Leaders
This guy is bomb. …

Więc jeśli ktoś szuka transportu z Rzeszowa do Ropczyc no to gg/icq.

THERE'S JUST TOO MUCH MUSIC OUT THERE:
My usual favourite albums list, now augmented to 50!
Happy New Year everyone!!
2009 is now long gone, 2010 is now and 2011 is still the future.
Those of you (my faithful, awesome readers) that know me will no doubt expect this post. Why? Well, it is my perfect opportunity to compile lists, and I really really really like lists! Here you go then:
Ok, first some introductory stuff, last year was a weird year for me, due to my military service, spent apart from Athens in Lamia and Komotini with some periods devoid of new music or even any music whatsoever. Thus I haven't listened to as much music as I wanted and also I have probably not paid as much attention as I should to some of the stuff I have listened too. Then again there's so much music out there that I don't think I'd ever be satisfied with how much I have listened to. …

23 Nov 2009, 12:42 de FunkafonikAlright, as we near the end of this first Y2K decade, it's time to take a look back at all the best Albums that have been released in the last 40+ years.
I'll start off this extensive research with 2000, up until 2009. I'll then go back to 1980, all the way up to 1999, to then wrap things up with the 70s and before.
I'll be choosing my Top 25 Albums for each year; an ordered Top 10, and ~15 others worth mentioning. I'm also considering the live albums and EPs (~5), but they have their own section since songs on these have usually been released on official releases. The final result will be a Top 1000 for Official Albums, and Top ~250 for Live/EP albums.
These are general rankings of how I see them today, but note that I haven't necessarily discovered and enjoyed all these albums on their released years, some I discovered years later. So these are also based on how important (to me) some of these albums were at the time.
(**) are the complete albums I was into at that time;

14 Jun 2009, 20:16 de strwrngpurpleWhile scouring the net for new music, something I do from time to time, I came across OSI. Reading up on them, they sounded like they had some potential. A project formed by Jim Matheos of Fates Warning and Kevin Moore of Chroma Key & Dream Theater. The project has been focused on electronic music for the most part, but this release has introduced quite a bit of heavy guitar. This sounded like something that would appeal to me. There are a handful or artists that are masters at mixing electronic and heavy guitars (see Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, mid-90's Fear Factory and even Linkin Park) and when it's done well it sounds so good to me.
With that in mind I came in with high expectations even though I had never heard them. What I got was a mixed bag of disappointment and excitement. The album starts off with a track that has some of the most generic nu-metal guitars I have ever heard. This was the disappointing part for me. …
