Aller guten Dinge sind vier und so geht es auch in diesem Jahr „an einem wunderschönen Freitag“ (Samba) nach Hannover zum Bootboohook 2011 im Kulturzentrum „Faust“. Das letzte Mal, so munkelt es in alle Richtungen, auf diesem Gelände, das durch seine Mischung aus Open-Air-Festivalgelände, Clubhallen und Biergarten und auch seine Lage mitten in der Innenstadt einmalig ist.

Gerade noch rechtzeitig zu der britischen Band Young Rebel Set aus Stockton-on-Tees erreichen wir das Festivalgelände. Offenen Mundes starre ich auf die gewaltige Bühne, die sich im Vergleich zu den letzten Jahren vervierfacht zu haben scheint und kurz wähnt man sich bei Rock am Ring. Erleichtert dann doch die Feststellung, dass alles andere am gewohnten Platz ist: das leckere afrikanische Essen, der gemütliche Biergarten, der Merch-Store mit dem freundlichen Personal und der Crêpes-Stand. Vor noch spärlich gefüllter Wiese und bei strahlendem Sonnenschein betreten die – so heißt es – von Thees Uhlmann entdeckten Young Rebel Set die Bühne. …

Role reversal that night. I accompanied a friend to the concert (with me often being the driving force) and what a very nice Sunday evening concert it was. Perfect setting, great audience and nice music. When we arrived the support act was just about to take the stage, so for a change I took notice of the support as well. And I have to say that I really liked listening to that young man from Stockholm - just him and his guitar and nice songs. And not a single person chatting - wow - not many support acts can enjoy that in Zurich. Lovely.

As for Christian Kjellvander. Hm. I know one attends a concert and not a play or so - so it should be all about the music. But I still like the singers or bands to address the audience at some stage and not just stand there and play their songs. But then he was maybe just a bit shy in the beginning because after a while he did start to also talk which definitely helped to bond with the audience. …

Of course, I already removed one of those artists frmo my library during this process (it was my music, but under the wrong name...) and there are others I can probably get rid of immediately.
