24.11.2009. Migrations Radio Show #298 , by Mr Goju: Tonight we are renegades of jazz! A lot club jazz tunes with guest mix from Renegades of Jazz. Renegades Of Jazz is the latest project of David Hanke aka one half of the german funk producer outfit Mash & Munkee. After the success with the first Mash & Munkee release and other side projects in autumn 2009 David started his new solo project as Renegades Of Jazz, focussing on 60’s and 70’s jazz and latin. The Renegades Of Jazz have a raw and dusty sound, fusing vintage jazz with modern beats and supported by some great musicians like Dave Wilde (Flute/Saxophone) and Paul Curtis (Guitar). First reactions to the Renegades were fantastic, instantly signed away by Smoove on his upcoming label Wass Records, he is now on the way to deliver a whole album. First release will be the “Karabine EP” with great Remixes by Dusty (Jazz & Milk) and The Uptown Felaz (Shiftin’ Gears) available on 12” early 2010.
