Cephalic Carnage es un grupo musical formado en Denver, Colorado en 1992. Cephalic Carnage se autodenominan «Hydrogrind», una combinación de marihuana y grindcore/death metal con unos toques muy técnicos. La banda normalmente toca diferentes estilos de metal, variando desde el doom metal, sludge metal, death metal, grindcore, jazz fusion y muchos otros. El estilo de sus letras va desde el tema de los aliens, humor y drogas narcóticas. Ellos tienen desarrollada una reputacion como banda a lo largo de sus constantes giras por Estados Unidos y Europa. Esto, agregado a su gran paleta de estilos, les ha dado una cosiderable legión de fans. Su primer show europeo tuvo lugar en Alemania, en el verano de 2003 en el «Fuck the Commerce festival» y su primera gira europea le siguió en Octubre del mismo año.
Actualmente, pertenecen a Relapse Records y han firmado ya cuatro albunes hasta la fecha con dicha compañía. Su último trabajo de estudio, Xenosapien, fue grabado en Estados Unidos el 29 de Mayo de 2007.

If you cant hear the elements that are trendy, then thats probably what you are into. Metalcore style riffs, weird time changes ,excessively technical musicianship, comedy bits, thats whats trendy in american metal. But it is well done none the less.
