Cassidy (Barry Reese es su nombre verdadero) de origen afro americana y dominicana es un rapero nativo de Philadelphia nacido en 7 de julio de 1982. Su álbum Split Personality alcanzó en 2004 la segunda posición del Billboard 200 y la primera en ‘Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums’.
Cassidy comenzó su carrera como cantante de batallas de rap y aparecía con asiduidad en ‘remix’. Por entonces, era miembro de la crew Larceny, hasta que el productor musical Swizz Beatz le firmo y su carrera no hizo más que crecer, cosechando éxitos como «Hotel», junto a R. Kelly, tema que le elevó a la categoría de estrella del rap.
