Carpathian Forest es una banda noruega de Black Metal formada por Nattefrost y Nordavind en 1990. Desde el lanzamiento del ya legendario demo «Bloodlust & Perversion» en 1992 y su promo de 1993 «Journey Through The Cold Moors Of Svarttjern», Carpathian Forest se ha ganado un estátus de culto en la escena noruega de Black Metal.
Carpathian Forest son únicos entre las bandas de Black Metal en el uso de temas para sus letras, ya que no sólo tratan de satanismo, oscuridad, anti-cristianismo, etc. si no que también incluyen sadismo, depravaciones sexuales, suicidio y otros temas morbosos además de los usuales en el Black Metal, a menudo reflejados con un toque de humor negro.
