Sweden Rock Cruise could be the most geneius idea ever, take a festival and make a winter correlate to it, and arrange it on the only possible place, on a boat. It could only end with success I thought to myself while standing and talking to CRASHDÏET bassist Peter London. Asked him if I could get my picture taking with him, and he responded stressed but nicely; "Sure, but hurry, I gotta go take a shit!"

Dave Leppard gave birth to a band witch is growing stronger and stronger with every changer of singer, with feels kind of weird to say. When CRASH hade their breakthrough, the sleaze genre had been dead for fifteen plus years. Coming out of nowhere, the band landed the single Riot in Everyone at top one spot in Sweden. The band was leading the new wawe of Swedish sleaze metal, when tragedy struck. Dave was found dead. London, Sweet and Young did not gave up, recruting new singer oliver twisted, who recored and toured in support for the album The Unattractive Resolution, witch gave the band another hit single, In The Raw. However, due to Olivers lacking engagment, he was sacked. The band seemed for a second time on their way to dispanding. In august 2009, Simon Crüz was recruted as the new vocalist and the band is planing to have a new album out in early 2010. Good Luck!

Peter wasn't the only one walking the ship talking to fans, I was fortune to witness, together with Kenny Winter of Exciter fame, a fan doing an acoustic remake of Violence and Force!

Exciter, with only one remaining original member, John Ricci, is still going strong. However, the abstinence of drummer and vocalist Dan Bëehler and bassist Allan Johnson is a hard thing to work against for a classic band.

A band witch also only has one remaining orginal member is Freak Kitchen. However, they are not hunted by that fact, since bassist Christer Örtefors is probably the greatest frontman not handling lead vocals. While his dancing is entertaining the crowd, Mattias Ia Eklund can concentrate on playing lead guitar and as well handling lead vocals.

Former Accept front man Udo brings his solo band to the boat, but the four brave ends up in the shade of Dirkschneider. All eyes on the man carrying on with the legacy of Accept.

Not much people in the crowd, but a real great show! Speak When Spoken To is a great track, and Örtefors is a even greater handler of the crowd.

During "Pounding Metal" the whole ship lopsidedness. Kenny makes the band more concert friendly. Try to entertain a crowd with a drumming lead singer..
CRASHDÏET 5/5
Should have played last set. Seemed to be the band most of the people wanted to see, and new singer Simon Cruz fits right in. Breaking the Chains fired up the audience to the max.
U.D.O. 3/5
Many artists is doing same set lists months after months, and the trick is not to show how boring it can get, that's where Udo falls this night. Another day on the job.

Probé con Backyard Babies en directo y pensé en acudir a algún lugar a que me fueran recetadas cantidades industriales de diazepam intravenoso. También pasé por escuchar a Hellacopters y deseé para mi la inolvidable muerte del personaje interpretado por Rutger Hauer en la inmortal Blade Runner. Decidí dedicarle tiempo a Turbonegro y la sola contemplación del odre de su líder en escena provocó en mi espasmos que difícilmente aliviaría el peor de los asesinos en serie. Quise entregarme a los desaforados planteamientos de Hardcore Superstar y mi maltrecho espíritu por poco no pide cuenta y el traslado. En un esfuerzo, con cabriola y doble tirabuzón incluido, se me ocurrió darle cancha a CRASHDÏET, y el olor a laca y rimel empastados en sudor provocó en mi bostezo y aburrimiento capaces de matar a un elefante. Peor aun fue enfrentarse a unos veinteañeros que decían responder al nombre de Airbourne y practicaban una música que estuvo de moda hace una vida. Mi cuerpo no estaba preparado aun para lo que aquellos mp3 contenían. Aquella música, emanada directamente desde lo mas profundo y angosto del peor de los infiernos, provocó en mi diversos tipos de convulsiones que solo he podido curar a base de alcohol barato, meses de terapia y alguna que otra visita a la pared mas cercana.

En un último esfuerzo por mantenerme vivo, por volver a creer en mi, en mi cerebro y en mi tiempo, caí en la cuenta de que por mis maltratados oídos no había entrado nunca ni un solo acorde de los benditos Steel Panther. Cielo santo. Aquella música, fotocopiada de principio a fin de alguna película de serie B de los años ochenta, de la MTV a medianoche, de alguna mala pesadilla del Axl Rose mas lisérgico, me hizo recapacitar y caer en la cuenta de que quizá no sea yo alguien nacido para deleitarse con los encorsetados clichés del rock mas tradicional. Por ello me pregunto y os pregunto, por ello le doy vueltas a la cabeza y os imploro que me digáis que he hecho mal, que he visto en pequeños garitos a Amon Ra o Hangin' Balls que no tengan las glorias del género. Que tiene esta música que me resulta tan excitante en ambientes quasi familiares y me distrae en los grandes escenarios, que me lleva a pasarlo como un niño pequeño en las pequeñas salas asturianas y a bostezar cuando contemplo los grandes stages donde muchos de los arriba citados, se mueven a su antojo. Que tiene el rock que pese a todo, pese a llevar toda la vida ofreciendo lo mismo, cada día parece mas vivo e inmune a las modas. Donde nace esa inquebrantable fuerza que lleva a los congéneres a perpetuarse generación tras generación al amparo de los tres acordes de siempre, mientras unos vienen y van, palideciendo finalmente al imparable caminar del reloj. Sexo y drogas en el Rock And Roll. Algo de eso debe ser.

Vanity Blvd was formed in Avesta, Sweden in 2005.



Shortly after, they were contacted by Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper) and producer, Chris Laney (Europe, Candlemass, CRASHDÏET).

Vanity Blvd. teamed up with Chris Laney at Platform Studio and recorded their debut album.



Markus Tagaris, the A&R at Gain (Hardcore Superstar, Lillasyster, Avatar) got a finished copy of the album and the band got a deal.
