Burst se formó en Suecia en 1993 por Jesper Liveröd, Linus Jägerskog y Patrik Hultin. Su estilo abarca desde el , el , el , hasta el . Rabia y calma mezcladas perfectamente. En definitiva, un sonido con aires de experimental y progresivo, pero muy bien trabajado y llevado al estudio.

En medio de un contexto arrebatador, Burst, contiene espacios puntuales de melodía que contrastan con repentinos cortes rítmicos, salpicados de intensas vocalizaciones de naturaleza esquizofrénica y unas guitarras de crudeza delirante.

Jonas Rydberg y Robert Reinholdz destacan como una dupla de guitarristas imaginativos, a pesar de desarrollar sus coordenadas musicales hacia un estilo extremista que no permite demasiadas opciones.

Sin embargo el ambiente de sus composiciones contiene el suficiente nivel como para no resultar demasiado básicos. Los abruptos y desenfrenados trallazos de incandescencia metálica se combinan con momentos de cierta ductilidad.

La voz de Linus Jägerskog es otra de las señas de identidad de Burst, por su perfil extremo, quizá demasiado para una banda que puede encontrar una mayor efectividad disminuyendo la virulencia para resultar más accesibles y menos abogiantes en el aspecto vocal.

Y como punto indispenable a la creatividad del grupo, es inevitable mencionar el sugestivo protagonismo de Patrik Hultin, un bateria alejado de convencionalismos, cuya efectividad incide en la perspectiva estructural de las composiciones.

It is more logical to say they are less concerned with fashion since they don't have any of those aspects to divert them from normal attire or look. And to the person below me, that is just ignorant and you may be trolling, but I am unsure.

    i am not saying they are bad, and i have only listened to lazarus bird because i'm under the impression that their earlier albums are more loud and "hardcore" than progressive. to me, this band is like a version of the ocean who couldn't take the criticism of changing their musical approach, which i feel is really, really unfortunate. lazarus bird is a cool ass album, i like all the songs, but it's just when i'm down for some wankery, they won't even let me do it..... ):

    They aren't too progressive at all, Burst appeals to almost everyone. Being too progressive would be wanker bands that try to hard and write shitty music still. "Burst - Lazarus Bird [2008]" is my favorite record from there discography. Every song works well and kicks some major ass. Burst and Memfis deserved more publicity. Lazarus Bird and it's almost perfect blend of modern metal styles make it overlooked as fuck.
