Biografía

Bullets and Octane es una banda de Rock/Punk originária de St. Louis, Missouri.

La banda esta formada por Gene Louis en un principio, batería, pero que al final acabaría siendo el actual cantante, Brent Clawson, antiguo amigo de Gene, como bajista, Ty Smith, tambien proviniente de St. Louis, que tocaba con una banda de Punk/Rock llamada Guttermouth de Huntighton Beach, California, reemplazaría a Gene como batería, hasta la fecha actual, y Kevin Tapia, que sustituyo al guitarrista que hubo desde el principio, James Daniel.

El álbum debut de Bullets and Octane, fue grabado en Septiembre de 2004, por Ares Records(Discográfica en la cual siguen estando a día de hoy), y sería titulado «The Revelry», el cual contendría canciones convertidas en himnos para la banda posteriormente, como Pirates, Save Me Sorrow y Sweet Dreams. El disco tuvo buena acogida, y fueron invitados como teloneros por Avenged Sevenfold, para su gira Europea.

Su segundo álbum, grabado en Abril de 2006, presentaba mucha mas intensidad y fuerza que el anterior tanto en riffs como en ritmos, aparte de como no, la desgarrada voz de Gene que se apreciaba en temas como I Ain’t Your Saviour, Going Blind o Caving In (Siendo, este último, single de la banda).

El último trabajo de los de Missouri se titula Song for the Underdog, y fue sacado a la venta en 2007. El sonido, esta vez se presentaba con toques mas comerciales y melodías mas repetitivas, pero con una misma temática que sigue desde su álbum debut: Fiesta, alcohol, drogas y prostitutas a ritmo de Rock/Punk típico de Orange County.

    I remember getting into them in 2006 / 2007 and getting obsessed with them cause I've always loved that dirty rock n roll / Appetite for Destruction sound, and these guys were one of the only bands to actually be any good at it. Then they released Song for the Underdog to virtually no press, and me and my friend looked at each other in disgust as these middle of the road Foo Fighter lite songs came out of our CD player. Found a 20mb rip of their self titled album 2 years later and it wasn't much better. What a waste.
