A few years back, I collected vinyl records, Motorpsycho vinyl records in particular. I bought myself a used Bang & Olufsen record player, and a phono-to-aux cable. I was ready for some listening! But no, my hi-fi wasn't compatible with the old technology. I think I needed some sort of amplifier. I didn't follow it through.

These days I see record players coming with USB-outputs, for easy transfer to PC. Probably gonna buy one of those soon. These are the records that are lying here waiting to be played:

    Motorpsycho
    It's a love cult (2 x 12", signed)
    Serpentine EP (10", signed)
    Phanerothyme (12")
Go To California (7" split with Soundtrack of our Lives)
    Barracuda (12")
    Roadwork Vol. 2 (2 x 12")
    Walkin' With J (10")
    Let Them Eat Cake (12")
    The Other Fool EP (10")
    Roadwork vol. 1 (2 x 12")
    Hey Jane (10")
    Trust Us (2 x 12", original)
    Ozone (10")
    Starmelt (10")
Angels and Daemons at Play (2 x 12", original)
    Sinful, Wind-Borne (7")
    Manmower (10")
    Blissard (2 x 12", original)
    The Nerve Tattoo (10")
Psychobabble 001 (10", Wearing Yr Smell)
    The Tussler (2 x 10", original)
    Timothy's Monster (3 x 12" + poster, reissue)
Into The Sun (7" split with Hedgehog)
    Demon Box (2 x 12", 1/2 3/4 issue)

"If you ask me tomorrow the list would change, of course" say Tom Waits but how many time do you see such a great list of songs and I wish Tom Waits would make lists of songs every day of the week.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus which is director by Terry Gilliam and the last role for Heath Ledger but what is even better is Tom Waits is The Devil!!! Here a photo from the film.

  • if crying and holding on and flying on the ground is wrong then i'm sorry to let you…

    19 Jul 2009, 14:16 de whenitthunders

    1. What's your favorite song by 15?
EscucharHot Burrito #1, probably. So, so beautiful.

    2. How did you get into 20?
Well, one thing led to another, basically. I got into Poco when I was pretty much obsessed with Buffalo Springfield. I loved the sound of Richie Furay's voice, and at the same time I was going through a country-rock phase, so I was all over these guys' albums. They didn't disappoint.

    3. Who is your favorite member in 1?
Roger Waters. Obvious answer is obvious.

    4. What’s your favorite lyric bit by 29?
By Michael Nesmith & The Second National Band? It's either Wax Minute or In The Afternoon. Probably the first.

    5. Have you ever seen 22 live?
I haven't seen Roger Waters live, no, are you trying to make me cry?

    6. What's your favorite album from 10?
For purely sentimental reasons it's A Quick One. Not the best, but it was the first one I heard and the one that made me fall in love with them. Plus, it's so much fun, you can't not love it. Quadrophenia deserves at least a mention though.

    7. Do you own any merchandise from 3?
No, I don't own any Humble Pie merchandise. I do own a couple of albums though.

    8. What is a good memory you have of 7?
All of my Herman's Hermits memories are good memories. If I had to choose one to write here, I guess it'd be the time I found that greatest hits CD dirt cheap.

    9. Is there a member of the same age as you in 2?
No, all of Buffalo Springfield's members are pretty old/dead. They were around my age when they were in the band, though, does that count?

    10. When did you first get into 8?
I've always known of him (I have the Simpsons to thank for that), but I only got really into Michael Nesmith's solo career just recently.

    11. Who likes 4 along with you?
Lots of people like Donovan. Sadly, I haven't met those people in person. Oh except that guy who sells CDs, I guess. And Valeria.

    12. Which song did you first hear from 16?
Mmm, do Beatles tunes written and sung by him count? It's either While My Guitar Gently Weeps or Here Comes the Sun. If those don't count, it's probably I'd Have You Anytime.

    13. What song made you fall in love with 5?
Who doesn't fall in love with The Monkees after watching the show?

    14. Which song do you not like by 18?
Ah, someone's going to kill me for this, I just know it. I'm not really into The Beatles in general.

    15. Why do you like 14's songs?
Because not only are they fun, they're also very good. Everyone should listen to The Small Faces every once in a while, if only because Steve Marriott had one of the greatest voices I've ever heard.

    16. Where did you first hear 6?
I don't know, to be honest. Led Zeppelin is one of those bands you grow up listening to everywhere, even if you don't know it's them. Everyone knows at least Stairway to Heaven or Black Dog.

    17. How long was 19 a singer before you liked them?
Well, considering Janis Joplin died way before I was born, I'd say her whole life.

    18. Does 13 have a song that gives you a bad memory?
Not really, no. Most of Buddy Holly's songs fill me with joy rather than bad memories.

    19. When did you get into 17?
Only recently. It took me 20 years to get into Janis Joplin, for some reason. I tend to ignore female singers, to be honest.

    20. How long have you been into 9?
Michael Nesmith is featured so much on this list, I'm going to just stop answering questions about him.

    21. If 11 had a concert 300 miles away, would you drive there to see them?
Yes. If Cream had a concert 300 miles away I'd even learn how to drive.

    22. How many CDs do you own of 12?
Only 2 or 3. I'm sure I own Beggar'S Banquet and AFTERMATH, but my memory fails me after that.

    23. Does 21 have a song that makes you cry?
Nope. Wow, and I thought everyone had at least one song that reduces me to tears. Apparently the Red Hot Chili Peppers are the exception to this rule.

    24. Does 27 have a song that makes you happy?
Yes, EscucharDominoes and EscucharHere I Go are two of them. Most of the songs from his days with Pink Floyd make me happy too.

    25. Does 23 have a song that makes you smile?
Yes, Peter Frampton has a song that makes me smile. More than one, actually.

    26. What's the last song you've listened to from 28?
I have no idea what the last song by John Entwistle I listened to is.

    27. Is there a song by 32 that you've listened to more than 30 times?
Nope. I only got Stephen Stills's albums like 3 weeks ago and haven't had the time. If his songs with Buffalo Springfield count, then yes. I've also listened to Suite: Judy Blue Eyes more than 30 times, I guess.

    28. What is a song from 50 that you've only listened to once?
I have Peter Tork and Shoe Suede Blues, Jaco Pastorius, Sly & The Family Stone and Charlie Watts all tied for number 50. Even though last.fm says I haven't, I've heard their songs more than once, except for Sly & The Family Stone. I gave their album Whole New Thing a listen and didn't like it very much.

    29. Is there a song you are sick of hearing by 24?
Nope, David Gilmour's work is the kind of music I usually don't get sick of hearing.

    30. What song got you into 40?
Well, I'm not really into The Beach Boys, I just listen to Pet Sounds every once in a great while. As for the Faces and John Paul Jones, it wasn't a song that got me into them.

    31. What is your favorite single by 25?
Was EscucharPsycho Daisies released as a single?

    32. If 49 hated you, what would you do?
    There is no 49.

    33. What would you say if 42 or one of the members from 42 asked you out?
    No 42 either :(

    34. Would you care if 41 had a boyfriend/girlfriend?
No 41... Wow, this is starting to get really boring.

    35. Who has the best voice in 46?
Seriously, stop it with the ties, last.fm!

    36. Do you think 26 is/are good looking?
I guess Chris Hillman wasn't bad looking. Otherwise no, I don't think The Byrds are good looking.

    37. How many times have you listened to your favorite song by 36?
I don't have a favorite song by Peter Tork & James Lee Stanley

    38. How many CDs do you own of 30?
2 solo and another 2 with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. John Frusciante albums are hard to find here.

    39. Is there a song from 38 that makes you mad?
No, Gram Parsons' songs don't make me mad.

    40. Which member from 31 do you want to see go solo? If 31 is only one artist, what would you do if they joined a group?
Well, 31 is Ronnie Lane, so this question is pretty pointless. He was in several bands and he went solo, so. If he joined a group now I'd be freaked out, but that's mostly because he'd be a zombie.

    41. What does your favorite song from 48 remind you of?
    48 doesn't exist.

    42. Did you hate 43 at first?
No, I never hated Rick Wright or Iron Butterfly. You can't hate people who make songs that are 20 minutes long and never get boring.

    43. Does your best friend also listen to 33?
No, my best friend doesn't listen to Crosby, Stills & Nash. She should, though.

    44. Do you think your parents would like 37?
My dad probably liked at least one Jefferson Airplane song back in the day, but my mom would probably hate them.

    45. Does 47 have a song that makes you want to dance?
The Kinks and Queen do. I've only heard one of Steve Marriott's solo albums, and the songs weren't exactly for dancing, but if we're counting The Small Faces (I hate that last.fm adds the "the" to their name) songs, then yes.

    46. Have you ever seen 34 in person?
No, I haven't seen Derek and the Dominos in person. I wasn't even alive at the time...

    47. Do you like 44's name?
    There's no 44.

    48. Is there someone in 45 that you want to go out with?
There's a two-way tie here. All of them are old, so no. If I'd been around when Roger Waters & Eric Clapton were young (except Yardbirds!Eric Clapton), then yes. The Animals not so much, they were all ugly.

    49. Do you know anyone that hates 39?
I don't know anyone that hates Les Fleurs de Lys. I don't know anyone that knows Les Fleurs de Lys.

    50. Have you ever danced to a song from 35?
Peter Tork and Shoe Suede Blues and Sly & The Family Stone, yes. Jaco Pastorius and Charlie Watts no, because how the hell does one dance to that?
