Vanzelfsprekend ontbreekt een voor niet-ingewijden volstrekt onbegrijpelijk tekst gebaseerd op Lord of the Rings niet: "Born with eons of sorrow / Cursed son of Hurin / Crossed the Mountains of shadow / Exiled from Dor Lormin" ('Dragonhelm'). En zo gaat het nog een tijdje door, want het materiaal op To Death and Beyond... is boven alles E-P-I-S-C-H.

Power metal is today associated with an epic sound tempered by characteristics of speed metal, power metal's musical forerunner. Power metal's lyrical themes, though as varied as metal itself, typically focus on fantasy and mythology (eg. , Rhapsody of Fire, Blind Guardian, Falconer , Domine, camaraderie and hope (eg. DragonForce, Stratovarius, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, Lost Horizon, Highland Glory, Sabaton), personal struggles and emotions (eg. X JAPAN, Primal Fear, Sonata Arctica, Evergrey) war and death (eg. Manowar, Sabaton, Iced Earth) or combinations of the listed themes. The prevalence of these lyrical themes span across the many languages power metal is performed in (eg. Angra (Portuguese), Darksun (Spanish). Many typical metal themes such as anti-religion and politics are comparatively rare but not unheard of.
Power metal is highly focused on the vocalist, with "clean" vocals being much more prevalent than the growling vocals often associated with death metal and black metal. …
2 Nov 2008, 4:51 de T_S_MNormally that's not something I'd say to people as I'm big on supporting the independent retailers. Many of the good one's in Sydney, (Such as Utopia, Red Eye, etc) know me by name, others I'm a familiar face. 23 Jul 2008, 16:15 de ripplemusicAs the eastern sun rises above the horizon, it illuminates a congregation of man, beast, and machine. Two armies as far as the eye can see, converge on a grassy plain. The anticipation of the coming battle weighs heavy on the hearts of the armored men. Fear permeates from the throng of bodies. Banners snap in the momentary gusts of wind as it sweeps across the fields of doom. Horns announce the approach of further garrisons, and sweat begins to bead on the brow. The multitudes suddenly part for their heroes as they prepare to lead their troops to oblivion. And then, for one brief moment . . . quiet, and peace.
Then, the two armies hurl themselves across the grasslands. Galloping towards a mirror image of itself, the first wave of attackers trample the brush and kick up dust, until the two forces ultimately collide. Before long, a tangled mass of humanity writhes in violence upon itself and blood soaks into the earth.
That’s the image I got from the first two minutes of Battleroar’s To Death and Beyond . …

16 Nov 2007, 18:31 de MeldoicstormThis is a Journal for all the Artists I have either tried out and have liked in the past or still like today.
Basically, all of them in the list I have at least an album for. But a minority I have just recently got into (Displayed by the “recently added” section) which may have only have one or two songs for. But even some of them I am ordering albums or got free albums from my company, of that artist and actually liked.
Anyway, here is my list, you can comment if you like. About any similar bands of the ones I have or how crap one band is or anything really. Or you can just look at my diversity of genres and music I have. This is for my benefit, as I will look down here, for prompts to buy and consolidate any Artists I feel I need to buy more stuff for.
NOTE: May have typos.

How it works
This will be left here and all the other journals I do will have a link to this the introduction...so you can read how I rate etc...if you want to.
This Journal is the inroduction to all reviews of my collection. Firstly, The journals of the reviews will be divided into sections either one letter or a couple of letters of the alphabet. These will be posted when I have quite a few for that letter(s).
Secondly, Read all of this if you want to know how its done.
And finally enjoy my diverse opinions.
Compliant of a review(s)
I get this a lot “Why did you do X band Y rating and you said the same thing for Z band but did a higher rating than X band?” :
Firstly, make a structural argument. So say what you think the band should be and why, like I have done. Then you can say your statement.
Secondly, mistakes. There are many mistakes within the reviews as I actually type…
