19 Ene 2009, 7:27 de Lars_olloHere's what you'll hear on EP at 9pm tonight, should you see this before we go on air. One of those rare occasions where it comes together before/off the fly :-)
Just received, and very excited about it - a compilation of Western Australian sounds featuring Stina (yay! - www.meupe.net/meupe1.html), Chris Cobilis (www.chriscobilis.com) and Gutter Guitar (www.myspace.com/gutterguitar).
Also bringing you a few other newly acquired Australian releases, including Zeal from Adelaide (who did the cat flying on keyboards video for and received remix treatment from Faux Pas), Inquiet from Melbourne (whose BrotherSister labelmate Royce Ng designed the cover for the new Faux Pas Waterfalls EP) and Monk Fly from Sydney (who has been running the Frequency Lab events and now branching out into a record label - www.thefrequencylab.com) and a trio of early-ish 80s classics.
Take note and explore - and thanks for listening!
Stina - Myoop

15 Dic 2008, 17:01 de kurtripThis is my attempt at creating a list of bands that should get more attention IMO
Sick German Metallic Hardcore, very loud and harsh
Similair bands: Systral, Unbroken, Integrity, Ringworm
Dutch Hardcore / Screamo, will reunite for 1 show at CMAR
Similair bands: Orchid, Neil Perry, Union of Uranus, Pg.99
890 Listeners on Last.fm WTF: Legendary Dutch Hardcore, everyone into Power Violence or Fastcore should know these guys
Similair Bands: Infest, Charles Bronson, Deep Wound, Siege
Some more bands that are underrated
Merel, Anasarca (the emoband of course), Negative FX, Deep Wound, R.A.M.B.O., Mörser, Systral, Threadbare, Dodewaard, Anomie
Just check them out if you are into good sincere hardcore/punk/emo/screamo/etc

28 Ene 2008, 16:24 de Sapila1 / All Chrome / I don't really know any bands that are similar to this, because i never liked melodic hardcore... Maybe Reason to Believe would be a good comparison. Great stuff.
2 / Shiftplus / digital hardcore, circa early 2000's (the good old days). The most official page i could find was this. NIN is for pussies, haha.
3 / Abyss / I have no info about this band at all, except from the stuff I wrote on that description. The 7" is solid heavy germman emo/hardcore, while the split with Iconoclast is a horrible Acme imitation, ewww.
4 / Anne O / I downloaded some music by this band, because I thought it was the band Anna O, which features members of Anomie, An Atta, etc. Anyway, this band has nothing to do with emo. Their first album, Inside, The Solution, from 1999 is ridiculously bad.. It's a shame it's the most known album by them. Boring Hatebreed-ish metal with yelled vocals.
What is worth listening to by them, is their second release, the split CD with End Of Freedom. …
24 Nov 2007, 22:51 de amitY`Callisto - Wormwood
Reminds me of Isis and Cult of Luna. Sounds epic , but with a very warm and soothing sound, a little jazzy and totally unique!
I Pilot Daemon - Waterlily & The Drunk Lovers
I have no idea how to describe this band, but they sound simply awesome. Dark, heavy, emotional and cold at the same time. Knut and Envy with a bit of Converge maybe... You can listen to most of their songs on the Artist page!
Anomie - Avorter n'est pas tuer
Raw but melodic french Screamo with male & female vocals.
Reflux - Above The Pyramind And The Eye
Technical "Metalcore" with nice guitar work. Never mind the bad tagging....
Long Distance Calling - Fire In The Mountain
Instrumental Post-Rock from Germany. One of the best releases in this genre this year! For everyone who likes Pelican, Isis, Godspeed! etc., go check it out!
Baroness - The Birthing
This band sounds like the bastard child of Isis and Mastodon with lots of old school rock guitar lessons :)
21 Ene 2007, 6:31 de xdehumanizedxI saw this on one forum and brought it here. Most are dismatches, but some are perfectly fit.
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend your cool...just type it in man!
IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE
Coco Brice - Main Man (Ramones Cover)
Senses Fail - Dreaming A Reality
First Day Of School:
Trinker Kohorte - Arena
Falling In Love:
Naked City - Shangkuan Ling-Feng
The Skoidats - Moonstomp'97
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Bad News and Bad Breaks
Persiana Jones - Un Giorno Nuovo
The Changes - When I Sleep
Bad Religion - Bad Religion
xBISHOPx - Tight Lip Politics
8 Ene 2007, 13:04 de aibomKind of bored at this time of day/night. *yawn*
I haven't made a journal entry in a while. I figured I write down some bands that just love.
Emo? Screamo? Emotional hardcore? Emo Violence? Skram? Chaotic Emo? There's at least a billion and one ways to describe this style of hardcore. But whatever. The bands tagged as this make some of the be music ever. I seriously can't see how anybody cannot like emo. I couldn't live without these bands.
Portraits of Past
I Would Set Myself on Fire for You
Gauge Means Nothing
She Spits Macabre
Circle Takes the Square
Spirit Of Versailles
There are more I'd like to list but I'm going to move onto the next genre.
Everybody on last.fm seems to love this stuff. To the point they go psycho about it. It's really good so I guess I can kind of understand why. I would say...favorite stuff along this genre so far would be...
Secrets of the Moon
