Why does he 'regard this activity not so much as a demonstration of a physical fact, but more as a way to smooth out any irregularities [his] speech might have'? If this is just a special effect surely it should be contextualised. The way in which the piece is framed seems much more like a way to demonstrate the acoustic phenomenon.

When I first played this I skipped through after hearing the paragraph a couple of times, advancing it about 5 mins at a time to see how it developed, and of course, by the end, it's imppossible to make out the words... what amazed me though is that when I listened to it again, this time not skipping through and just lied and listened with my eyes closed... this time I was able to get through the whole CD keeping track of the words... I was actually suprised when it ended because I was still following what he was saying! Try it at home! [2]

So much more original at the time and so much less pretentious than most of the conceptual art bull**** we get nowadays... :)

The only time I have time to listen to the entirety of this is here, at work! Cuz the room he's sitting in is more interesting than the one I'm sitting in.
