Aberfeldy se formó en mayo de 2002 en Edimburgo, Escocia. Su nombre se debe a una pequeña ciudad balnearia de su país natal. Su música cambia la tradicional melancolía de las islas británicas por un sonido pop reluciente y pegadizo, con especial énfasis en las guitarras acústicas y las armonías vocales.
Editaron algunos singles en Gran Bretaña antes de lanzar su álbum debut Young forever en 2004, con influencias que van desde Fleetwood Mac hasta Belle & Sebastian. En la Argentina, su canción “Summer’s gone” se hizo conocida por haber sido utilizada en un comercial de cerveza.
En 2006, Aberfeldy insistió con su propuesta de inocente pop editando Do whatever turns you on.

I love this band. On a whim I purchased Young Forever at a local record store. Needless to say, I'm happy I did. Just beautiful, honest music. It seems everyone that I know that has come in contact with this stuff has fell in love with it like I have. It's just...SOMETHING about how they do what they do that makes it wonderful.
