This is essentially the same as tagging the A-sides as 選抜メンバー honestly. [3]

"because last.fm decided to put some strange other groups by that names, but with different capitalization, into my library. "---> uhm last fm doesn't have anything to do with it.... last fm is made by the people who use it. it's their own fault, why do they use MINT and DIVA as artist names, it's not hard to figure out that those names are totally overused by other bands/artists... artist names in normal latin script have a standard capitalization so MINT=>Mint etc.

It's not the tag that is wrong, but last.fm ignoring the "Album Artist" information, if present. The "Artist" field of the songs should be tagged as "アンダーガールズ" and the "Album Artist" tag as "AKB48". Nonetheless, I also had to change it back for DIVA and MINT units on the Beginner singles, because last.fm decided to put some strange other groups by that names, but with different capitalization, into my library.

But yeah, good point. We should listen to their music instead. Most of their works is really good.

Yeah, but not without AKB48. Those are AKB48 concerts, AKB48 singles and AKB48 shows. They do make a distinction between the main senbatsu and Undergirls/Theater Girls. Not arguing with that. I'm saying it is pretty weird tagging the main senbatsu as the artist AKB48 but this isn't. There is no artist called Undergirls. King Records only make the distinction on some singles also. On Heavy Rotation there is no "(歌:アンダーガールズ)" after Namida no Seesaw Game for example.

No, it wasn't obvious. The only thing that shout says is "Sasshi uses this tag, it is valid". Out of curiosity, where do they introduce themselves as Undergirls without using AKB48 as well?

I love Sasshi btw, I just don't use her iPod to set my tags. I also hate making spelling mistakes in shouts I've put links in. I meant "YouTube", not "YuoTube". I'm also not trying to tell anyone how to tag their music, just explaining why I find it redundant, this is AKB48 just as much as the main senbatsu.

Also, if you go to their official YuoTube channel (I'd say that is a better reference than Sasshi's iPod) you will see "Song Name / AKB48" for all of the Undergirls songs. Never ever, not even once will you see any artist other than AKB48 for their songs. Undergirls aren't credited in any of the titles.

v Why on earth would Sasshi be a better 'tagger' than anyone else? She also uses "AKB48 チームB5th" as an artist tag so please don't use her as a reference when you tag. I'm not saying this is an incorrect tag per se, I'm saying it's a useless and unnecessary artist tag. They would never ever even consider using the name Undergirls without the name AKB48. "Their" songs are only on singles for the artist AKB48 and you will never see an Undergirls concert without AKB48. If you see one of their songs on MTV or similar, you will see AKB48 as the artist. This is a very loose formation unlike Team A/K/B and their members will vary from single to single but they will always be as much AKB48 as the main senbatsu.

I don't like this tag. They have a different line-up every time so they don't qualify as a unique team or sub-unit and they're part of AKB48. It's like tagging the main song with 選抜.
