You know, I'm really autistic when it comes to having correct tags for all the artists, songs and albums in my music library. But I've decided for myself that I only allow the latin alphabet to my library and here's why. You guys play his music with his original name, but not with the original music titles and all what belongs to that (what kind, what tempo, which key). It's still a mess when you look at the top tracks right here. It's simply too hard to have all the tags right when you don't understand another alphabet. I'll just keep it Dmitri Shostakovich.

though there is merit in the core of the opinion, being physically ill over the latin alphabet smacks of terrible elitism.

besides the fact that Дмитрий Дмитриевич Шостакович is the original spelling, it looks prettier than the english equivalent. the latin alphabet is so ugly it makes me sick. i wish the europeans would still use the ancient greek alphabet or would at least invent a new alphabet with less ugly letters.

I don't care which way the name is written, as long as all the possible ways would be combined under the same name. Which they are not.

I have no problem reading Cyrillic characters, but any plays I have on my iPod won't scrobble if the artist's name uses them.

Everyone who doesn't like the cyrilic characters version, please use the 'Suggest a correction' feature (right under the 'More information' section). Thank you.
