Pia 12 XI – Ólafur Arnalds

Nie lubię jak nagle zmieniają miejsce koncertu. Nie dlatego, że tak się przyzwyczajam do pierwszego, ale dlatego, że z moją orientacją w terenie wolę mieć czas na znalezienie dokładnych informacji co, jak i gdzie. Poczułam się trochę niepewnie wysiadając w dość opustoszałej okolicy pl. Na Rozdrożu, ale teraz, kiedy jest już jasno droga wydaje mi się banalnie prosta ;)

Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej dysponuje bardzo ładną salą, chociaż siedzenie na podłodze było trochę niewygodne. Nic nie poradzę na to, że przypomniały mi się szkolne apele w sali gimnastycznej.

Ólafur Arnalds z zespołem wszedł na scenę z 15 minutowym opóźnieniem, o którym jednak wiedziałam, więc spokojnie wygniatałam sobie miejsce na podłodze.
Ólafur od pierwszej chwili przeniósł mnie do innego świata. Emocje, które podaje w swojej muzyce są obrane z twardej otoczki, która zazwyczaj towarzyszy im w życiu. To tak jakby od razu znaleźć się w ich środku, kiedy nie jest się niczym od nich oddzielonym. To piękne, niesamowite uczucie.

It’s that time of the year again: Cold winter days, Christmas lights and… year end lists. I’ve closed my musical book for the year, anything that’s released from now on won’t make it on my best of list on such a short notice anyway. So it’s time to round it up and make up the score. I think it’s become pretty obvious that I’ve had a musical year dominated by indie-pop, electronica and post-rock. 2007 was also the year I discovered the joys of concerts: Stars, The Decemberists (twice), Battles, The Frames, The Album Leaf and all of this in one year. You certainly won’t hear me complaining!

There’s a little treat waiting all the way at the bottom: A mixtape with some of the the highlights from these albums.
