Jeff Alford
Heart of Trance

The Rennes-based, Anglo-Lebanese psytrance DJ and producer Jeff Alford has taken one of the top video awards at the nascent CraveFest Music Video Awards. Alford won the Most Original Video category in the signed Electronic/Dance/World category for his debut video, produced by his own video production company Jamixart for his single Visions in Space.

The prize for the innovative 3D animated video was announced on 17 August at the CraveFest gala awards evening held at Toronto’s The Mod Club. Hosted by solo artist Tara Slone, the evening featured live performances by illScarlett, Roz Bell, Solitair, The Scenario, Tricky Bizzniss and HandHeld. Award presenters included CraveFest judges Alan Cross, Tanya Dennis, Ulysses Terrero and Farley Flex via video.

Alford, signed to the UK independent record label Aardvark Records, said: “To win an international video award is exciting!” Alford continued by saying; “It feels great to know that my video was showcased in the festival and then judged by professionals as the most original video in its category. This has encouraged me to concentrate on new 3D animations for my music. I hope to make repeat this success next year with another video.”

Other CraveFest award winners were Canada’s Alexisonfire, Britain’s Thom Yorke and USA’s Tricky Bizzniss.

About Jeff Alford
Jeff Alford just might hold the key for igniting another dance floor revolution while putting France on the global map of dance music. He certainly holds the key for exporting electronica that captures the imagination of dance music enthusiasts outside of his adopted French homeland. Clubbers around the globe find themselves dancing to the beats of Jeff Alford’s new album, ‘Heart of Trance’, released on the UK record label Aardvark Records.

Alford has set Belgium, Sweden, Portugal, America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand on fire with his hot trance single ‘Visions in Space’. The single has been a ‘breakout’ chart hit on Belgium’s Tempo Radio. DJ record pools, services that send out singles to thousands of club and radio DJs, have also been big supporters of the single. It has gone on to grab top chart spots with American DJ and record pool services such as Masspool and Infamous Record Pool, to name just a few.
