AmaroK or Rhythmbox?

  • @skrimstla: No, it's not, but it does require KDE packages to run.

prefer using clementine than the others :D

  • Exclusively use MPD, occasionally mplayer2 (for music with messy tags)

  • Rhythmbox

    Clementine is my fav.

Screw clementine and other native players, foobar works with wine, lovely!

    Foobar2000 for the win!

    VLC.

Rhythmbox, Banshee and Audacious felt buggy, slow and partly unresponsive on my old notebook, all three of them crashed regularly. VLC is the only that appears to be relatively reliable without using too much CPU and memory.

  • ^Ever tried QuodLibet?

  • Rhythmbox > Amarok.

If I would go for a GUI based player...imo nothing beats "Banshee" in terms of features.

But personally I use this: http://irenicus09.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/commandline-based-music-player/

a list of available Audioplayers (in german):
    http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/AudioPlayer
(you can translate it e.g. with: http://www.online-translator.com/site_translation.aspx?prmtlang=de)

  • Rhythmbox

My desktop is Gnome so my default music player is Rhythmbox , Amarok is very nice but i like Exaile too, banshee is another good opcion

  • Rhythmbox works fine for me

Banshee runs really slowly for me

    Feed Rescued Animals...
Just click the purple button, and it gives .6 bowls of food to rescued animals. It takes no more than 10 seconds.

    VLC

I like both of them, but... Sometimes I have a need to change my environment/OS, and I don't want to change software, I used to. So... I choose VLC. It perfectly works on Win/PC and Mac too. Nice tool, which also does video.

    DeaDBeef for me.

I've used Rhythmbox, Banshee, Audacious, Clementine and a couple others but DeaDBeef beats them all.

Agreed with Zero1986! When I moved from Win7 to Ubuntu I was sad that Foobar2000 via wine wasn't properly working sometimes and would oftenly crash then I found DeaDBeeF and I'm highly pleased by it! :D
