I just got their s/t so right now I'm really digging it. Pale Blue Eyes is just an amazing song. Probably my favorite lyrics of any Lou Reed has ever written.

Loaded is probably my favorite though. It's so accessible but awesome. Sweet Jane and Rock and Roll are probably the two most commercial sounding VU songs, but they're also my favorites just because the guitar riffs are so sweet and catchy. And Reed's voice sounds great. And Oh Sweet Nuthin' is Lou's finest guitarwork. That outro solo just owns.

  • Currently the self titled Velvet Underground probably because i jsut got it and started listening to it. Murder Mystery is pretty sweet

Yeah Murder Mystery is pretty nuts. Pale Blue Eyes is still my favorite.

  • My favourite is the album called Velvet Underground too

"Velvet Underground & Nico" and "White Light/White Heat" it is for me. The more experimental, the better :)

  • i have to agree with erikfar on that one..

    Rather be dead.

yeah. im still a huge fan of their debut album but i also really like white light, velvet underground, and loaded...

  • They are all equally amazing to be honest (or maybe im just obsessed with the VU) but they all are so amazingly different. I listen to Loaded the most but sometimes there is nothing else in the world that can make me smile the way that "Jane Says" off live 1969 or "Caroline says" off VU or even "After Hours" from the self-titled. I do have to say that Nico is the most revolutionary though. Where would music be without that album? I dont WANNA KNOW!

White Light/ White Heat for me. It never gets old.

  • Currently, it's probably "Loaded"

  • Velvet Underground & Nico of course!

  • Just me, but I find VU Nico sort of inconsistent (it goes from amazing, to godly)... but hey, it was ahead waay ahead of its time. White Light/White Heat is so underrated, and VU isn't the same wifout that deadpan, Welsh spoken word.

Loaded seems the most accessible, but all of what I've heard, I like!

  • 1. The Velvet Underground & Nico
    2. The Velvet Underground
    3. White Light/White Heat

  • Overall - Banana Album
For lyrics - The Velvet Underground
But all 4 albums with Reed are incredible(understatement).

Definitely White Light/White Heat... or, if you call it an "album", Peel Slowly And See ;-)

  • Velvet Underground, After hours has to be one of my favorite songs.

  • A very hard decision... "a big decision"...

I like too much "The Velvet Underground and Nico" and "Loaded" but there are more great discs.
