Sex-positive feminism centers on the idea that sexual freedom is an essential component of women's freedom. As such, sex-positive feminists oppose legal or social efforts to control sexual activities between consenting adults, whether these efforts are initiated by the government, other feminists, opponents of feminism, or any other institution. They embrace sexual minority groups, endorsing the value of coalition-building with members of groups targeted by sex-negativity. Sex-positive feminism is connected with the sex-positive movement.

Gayle Rubin (Rubin, 1984) summarizes the conflict over sex within feminism:

"There have been two strains of feminist thought on the subject. One tendency has criticized the restrictions on women's sexual behavior and denounced the high costs imposed on women for being sexually active. This tradition of feminist sexual thought has called for a sexual liberation that would work for women as well as for men. The second tendency has considered sexual liberalization to be inherently a mere extension of male privilege. This tradition resonates with conservative, anti-sexual discourse."

Sex positive feminism is simply middle class young people's wishing to engage in pornography and what ever sexual acts the wish to partake in. They fail to realise the problem is not 'pictures of consenting adults having sex' (people can do what ever they want in the bed room), it is the exploitative power relations that form through said transaction and the damaging, hierarchal and sexist class society that introduces the idea of sexual abuse, male power and dominance over men. Sex positive feminism completely looses sight of the problem so many times and it forgets the fact that, just because you have the inalienable right to do what ever you wish to your body, that doesn't mean it's a good idea to do something's. I completely support women's right to sexual freedom but I do think that feminists who support pornography ignore the exploitative power relations that form from said transactions.

Hey, I'm going to leave this group because I think I stand somewhere in the middle of "pro-sex" and "anti-porn". I agree with both sides on some things, and both sides piss me off sometimes. And I don't like the term "pro-sex" because while it can simply imply an emphasis on sex issues, it can also be taken to imply that other feminists are anti-sex, which isn't true. Yes, the stereotypes of feminists in general exist, but it seems that some pro-sex feminists actually think non-pro-sex-identified feminists are "anti-sex" (I have heard this many times).

Maybe also Crass. I think it's safe to say they were sex-positive, and they were definitely feminist. They had a song about polyamory (which is one of the things that got me into it).

A lot of the connected artists are probably not feminists, and are most likely not sex-positive, either. NOFX actually has sexist songs, so at least they should be deleted, if nothing else.
