it's all matter of taste, but i must say I agree with VasaX, Bob's children all live in shade of their's father fame and nothing seems to change this situation.
Welcome to Jamrock is solid album, but this what bring so huge commercial success to it, is hip hop influence. There are really better reggae albums that have come out recently, just check out albums of artists such as: 10 Ft Ganja Plant, Tribal Seeds, Tabu, Groundation, Overproof Sound System, Zion Train
BTW. Paarma - Pidä liekkis, great LP ;)

  • I didnt ask you ;) . BTW. NO SHIT :D ...

all of these albums are massive, too good to be true, etc: administer daily with appropriate doses of collie weed

    in no order....
The Upsetters- Super Ape: earthy roots drenched in dread, scratches an itch that few can reach
Dr. Alimantado- The Best Dressed Chicken in Town: the md comes up big with righteous toasting on the merits of being a Rastaman and the pitfalls of Babylon
Burning Spear- Marcus Garvey: as roots as roots gets
Pablo Moses- Revolutionary Dream: great lyrics, funky voice, babylon-shaking riddims
Keith Hudson- Pick a Dub: the best dub is early dub, before everything had to echo **need proper set of sound-producers for this one

and one more just for Jah
The Congos- Heart of the Congos: contains fisherman, greatest reggae song o.a.t.

ps satta masa gana is mostly pop-reggae, gregory isaacs was no rastaman, and black uhuru is kinda lame, but the dub factor is one of the best dub albums

  • 1. Two Seven Clash - Culture - With no doubt the best reggae album ever. Even Bob marley doesnt have any album solid and consistent like this one.
    2. Heart of Congos - The Congos - Classic album. Great vocals, stunning roots-dub music. Lee Perry's best album.
    3. Satta Massagana - Abyssinians. The title cut is simply the most known roots-reggae song ever. Great album.
    4. Right Time - Mighty Diamonds - What an album!
    5. Legalize it - Peter Tosh

Also great albums: Marcus Garvey - Burning Spear, Exodus and Uprising - Bob Marley, Max Romeo - War inna Babylon, Guess whos coming to dinner and Red - Black Uhuru, The Same Song - Israel Vibration, Tenement Yard - Jacob Miller, Police and Thieves - Junior Murvin, Back to Roots and Trenchtown Mix-Up - The Gladiators.

If you like roots-reggae, go to store and grab all of the albums mentioned here that you dont have ;)
