I'm glad I'm not the only one who's getting fed up with these annoying keep last fm stats clean pics, Their's been some moron with an alternate account who's been stalking me through my library to see which artist page he should upload the last fm keep stats clean pic too, It's such an eyesore to see that many fucking keep last fm stats clean pics uploaded, I'm not going through my entire library to change my artist tags especially when i scrobble so much from them, another bad thing about is these mods gave them permission to do this but they went overboard when giving them permission they create alternate accounts to cheat their way into voting for their own keep last fm stats clean pic in an alternate account then delete any other alternate account to repeat the process, So prevent abuse on the pictures from new users does not easily stop this.

My biggest problem with this is the incorrect assumption that my stats are wrong, when I *know* that musicbrainz and others are far more wrong. "The Beatles" should be listed as "Beatles, The" so that it is alphabetized under B. "Frank Zappa" should be listed as "Zappa, Frank" so that it is alphabetized under the artist's last name. musicbrains and others would put every band that begins with the word "The" under T and would alphabetize by musicians *first* names. Nothing could be more wrong than that.

You guys do realize that you can down-vote that red pic and up-vote another artist pic right? If you do this enough times it will eventually change the artist main pic. Sometimes it only takes one vote. This is your best weapon against the tag police!

Saying "tag your shit properly" is a cop-out. Sometimes there simply isn't enough information, even on musicbrainz. The most obnoxious instances of this are with Japanese artists. I don't care if an artist redirects to a kanji spelling of their name when I scrobble it, but I'm sure as hell not going to go through my mp3 collection and re-tag stuff in kanji when I can't even read it. I'll never understand why these busybodys insist on telling you what to do with your own music.

Does anybody know how they manage to change album art and how it can be changed back? Services like MOG and Spotify tend not to scrobble special characters, and this angers the tag police. But we listeners cannot control how services scrobble and should not be penalized by the ugly red picture on our profile.

Well if people didn't make mistakes with band/artist tagging to begin with...there wouldn't be such a pic [2] just tag your shit alright and everything is fine omfg

I'm strongly against adding nationality to the end of band names to solve the "bands with the same name" problem. The problem is caused by's crappy implementation and their reluctance to fix the problem.

Well if people didn't make mistakes with band/artist tagging to begin with...there wouldn't be such a pic just for different bands with the same name. Only for incorrect/multiple different spellings of a band/artist with the same name. So...really...this is completely absurd...

There should be a Wikipedia-like disambiguation page for bands with the same name. Or survival of the fittest as it is now. Individual track tagging would help clarify things.

(crossposted from NorseDave's page, answering his post on mine) - Well, I guess I shouldn't be telling you how to tag your artists, I can understand that you want to make a point of which band it is that you're listening to - after all, they are your tags. I personally wouldn't do it cos I think it doesn't help on But it's a free internet. Maybe you're right - it won't hurt anyone whether the according artist pages bear a picture of the band. I've been putting up that picture on a lot of misspelled artist name pages - the case you have here is different though, since yours is a deliberate "misspelling".

Well, hate to break it to ya, but all the connected artists have faulty ID3 tags - or do the Mexican Disgorge print "Disgorge (Mex)" on their T-shirts? As much as it sucks that there still is no possibility so split identical artist names according to the proper artists, tagging Disgorge as "Disgorge (Mex)" doesn't help either.

I'm all for keeping proper tags, but man, these people put the picture up everywhere, even when, IMHO, it doesn't belong.

Yeah you're right! I dont' know why if I'm listen to the MEXICAN Disgorge and not to the AMERICAN one, I have to see this fuckin' pic!
