What becomes when 3 guys from metal and alternative bands Sara and Lapko decide to join forces and take a step away from their usual duties, with a new kind of musical approach? This is what Pedestrian's Motor is all about: A totally unique combination of electronic beats and indie sounds spawning from a mellow state of mind.
With a collision of a depechemodish style and a johnnycashy attitude, the members started to play something that no one expected. Jorma Korhonen (Sara) had made dozens of new tunes that didn't fit into Sara's repertoire. The material seemed to be too good to waste, so Jorma asked his bandmate Antti Tuomivirta to start a brand new sideproject.
A couple of months later the guys had a plenty of unfinished material and they started to think of an ideal singer for the project. Jorma remembered meeting Ville Malja (Lapko) during a tour in the past. Already during the very first rehersal the trio completed four songs which will all most likely be released as a part of a MCD trilogy. Pedestrian's Motor was founded.
In the beginning of 2005 the band inked a deal with 1000 Records, a sublabel to Fullsteam Records. Before their first full-length album, Pedestrian's Motor will release a digipack MCD trilogy. The first chapter "I" was released in April 2005 and the others will follow: "II" on April 5, 2006, and "III" in early 2007.
What about the future? The band will most certainly continue making their unique music. Pedestrian's Motor has promised to play a few gigs after completing their MCD trilogy. Therefore, the only thing we can do at this point is to wait and enjoy of what we have received so far: MCDs I & II, some of the most original electronic records ever made in Finland!
