Good question. Yes, I actually manually linked each artist to our page. I haven't had a chance to update our connections in a while, as Last.fm loads so slow for me. Do you not have an option to connect artists to the group? I wish we all could have the same options. I went into the Settings for the Group, and they don't really allow much. Let me know if you ever want me to connect any artist -- I know there are numerous artists we should/could add, regardless of their label affiliation. At least, judging by what I have seen in other groups, they take a liberal stance on what "Connected Artist" means, lol.

Fgal, what does the "Connected Artist" mean? Do these artists associate themselves with our group, or do you, as group leader, select them?

A few months back, I actually de-associated ourselves with the artist page for "Narada." Initially I had linked to that particular profile page, thinking there could be quite a few scrobblers out there who own one of Narada's compilation discs (I have several myself) and possibly having ripped them under the common artist "Narada" for computer use. Anyhow, at the time, there was a photo up which I may or may not have perceived to be abusive (looked like a poor resolution home photo of two young men with "brown stuff" smeared on their faces, plus the obvious looks of hilarity in their expressions). Of course, thinking back, that may have actually been a legitimate artist photo for a group also named "Narada." However, the smeared-face avatar image was popping up right on our main page, so I thought, "Eee, unfortunately, that's not us."

Lisa, I am heading over there to vote now! The only Michael Jones I know is the pianist -- I didn't know there was a guitarist with the same name, although not at all surprising. I really wish last.fm would do something for artists who share the same name. They really deserve separate pages, I think. Rather than having, for example, an underground band called John Coltrane sharing the same profile page with the other John Coltrane, it would be so nice if they could award each artist separate pages. Although, I am sure it will take some more resources and time to implement something like that.

Silentist! I agree all the way! :) And you know, I've just only recently been introduced to Katherine Jenkins, and she is seriously incredible! I actually looked her up on youtube first and then just bought a few of her CDs. By the way, did you recently change your user photo? I haven't been on the site a while, and it looks new. Either way, nice! I want a shot like that on mine, but I always give up.

Hello, Fgal. I really do not always go wow after U.K.'s last year's bestsellers are officially announced. I mean these charts often let me down. But there are some of them from 2008 which I appreciate much. I mean those which are closer in style to the music we listen in this group. Il Divo, Katherine Jenkins, Enya & Andrea Bocelli. I'm so glad they are still very popular.

i wanted to comment that i was struck with sudden depression when i looked at the list posted by Silentist, thinking, "Wow, I haven't heard of any of these artists. Am I really that behind with the times?" and then i realized the artist name came after the single/album title. (not that that lightened the depression much admittedly!) =D

Hi folks! Hope you all are having a lovely autumn, wherever applicable. It looks great out there!! A few random comments -- I'm not sure when they did away with Narada Radio (anyone know?). They recommend a site called "Pandora Radio" on the Narada HP. Anyone checked it out or knew of it already? It's a great place to sample new artists!

If the powers that be would accumulate 2 or 3 weeks worth of listening data, and then only include artists/tracks listened to 2+ times, that might settle the charts a little more into the real Narada-type genre.

too bad the group charts don't have a built-in feature where they can pick up group-relevant data only. lol maybe that's a bit much to ask. i'm a huge narada listener/fan/customer myself, but i listen to other non-narada labels/genres as well. many of the groups you see around the site have charts that don't "exactly" match the theme of their group (if at all).
