wow, no chance in hell I can just name 1 song.. that just ain't possible ;D

But.. Fade to black, One, ...and Justice for all and Creeping Death are a few favourites.

And I agree with REEG, One is one of the best LIVE songs ever! :)

  • i think i like these 5 the most:

    dyers eve
    master of puppets
    one
    fade to black
    disposable heroes

I'll have to agree that One is a kick-ass song live. Probably their best live song...followed closely by Creeping Death.

I think several songs on Load/reload are awsome too, not only the old shit :)
I just can't understand why people "hate" them so much..

Most of their songs are good, I can't specify except that Master Of Puppets is how I got into Metallica.

People say the new stuff (first, load/reload) sucks because Metallica started trying out new types of music that would appeal to more people (viewed as selling out) such as more rock, adding in other effects such as slide guitar. They also cut their hair and had some makeup on in the CD booklet (which outraged fans). Their newest studio album St. Anger is hated because the recording is horrible, the songs drag on and have no guitar solos.

I personally think all the stuff is good, old or new, but the older stuff just surpasses the new in quality by a lot.

My favorite right now is Battery. The first nine tracks or so on the Black Album are excellent, though. I can't pick!

    Orion, Sanitarium and Battery.
Maybe Fade to Black and The Outlaw Torn too.

I'm pretty much bored with One and For Whom the Bell Tolls, which were my favourites when I was younger.

And the best riff is in Damage Inc..!

"Once a lumberjack was about to chop down a tree, when he noticed a heart carved on it, with two names inside. Putting away his axe, he sawed down the tree instead. The point of that story escapes me, although six months later the lumberjack was fined for teaching a dwarf Roman numerals." -Woody Allen

These are the pale deaths which men miscall their lives
All this i cannot bear to witness any longer

Likewise, I loved St. Anger. It was a refreshing change for 'tallica. I cant really name a metallica song i dont like. Even the instrimentals are amazing.
