*1972 in Tokyo, Japan
Kojima first got into contact with American music from the 50's in High School, wanting to make similar music from that time on.
She wrote her first song "Manatsu no Umi" (真夏の海) at 18 and sent it to a record company where she was promptly taken under contract.
She successfully blends jazz, french pop and blues as well as her own unique style in her songs.

K_a_t_a_n_a There are some rumors about Kojima writing songs for a new album. Well, she said so herself in a radio interview, and also mentioned being "in the middle of producing" something and asking to "look forward to it" on her official site. It's all kinda old, but you can't really find news about her anywhere so I thought I'd share it here anyway.

Wakakaishin More people should know about Mayumi Kojima... enough said. I haven't listened to her new album yet! I'll try to get my hands on it but importing is a pain for me x_x and expensive... haha
