PR: "The Apparatus has put together 21 track, 2 disc free download compilation. What's the catch? None of the bands are signed. Not even independent labels have caught on. This is the cream of the global crop; underground Tech Metal. It's hard to bring all these micro tech metal scenes together. This compilation is our biggest attempt. So here you go. Download it. Burn it. Blow up your car stereo with it. Do what you do."

The first thing I have to say off the bat is that someone had better fucking write an angry song or protest about the new movie coming out "swing vote." As a 'cautious America' I would like to think I accept only the things that I see as credible and honorable. This movie is generating more bullshit around the no longer pure process of voting. People no longer keep their political choices to their selfs, which is awesome. However, the bad side of this is this also applies to both powerful and influential people all over the world. Just as people wear what their idols do, they also just might vote like these idols do. I see this dichotomy as a form of inferential control. Just as these people indirectly influence the actual winning candidate, they also now appear to be perpetuating the illusion that one fucking American controls the vote. I'm tired of all these lies and fantasies.

The problem with this fallacy of making a difference with a single ballet is creating both are stagnant economy and political scene. Lemme rephrase: no enough people feel the need to stand up and improve these things outside of the tiny worthless effort of voting. I wish there was a commercial showing people the power of rhetoric or something. We need to stop saying we're voting for the lesser of two evils, and instead vote for who we fully believe in. We need to take control back from the parties.

  • Audio bootleg: The Dillinger Escape Plan, Poison The Well, Stolen Babies @ Arena,…

    23 Mar 2008, 15:23 de amnesiacphlgm

The Dillinger Escape Plan, Poison The Well, Stolen Babies @ Arena, Vienna (08/03/13)

    Hey everybody,

I'm new to this stuff and I don't have the right equipment to record concerts in a great quality - all I own is my iAudio X5L 30GB (<3). I recently just tried out how it would be to record a gig with the built-in mic and realized that the sound is not that bad for an MP3-player. Of course it's not a soundboard bootleg or anything that could come close to a clear recording, but nonetheless it's enough to keep an awesome evening in memory.
That's why I won't be releasing a FLAC-version of this since I'm not sure whether it would make any sense. If people keep requesting it though I'll think about it.

Maybe I'm gonna create a blog in case I keep these things up, but for now last.fm should suffice.

    Now to the actual bootleg:
In the beginning (Stolen Babies were the opening band) I was running low on battery, so unfortunately I could only record the first two songs since I wanted to make sure that I get PTW and DEP in their entirety. I liked them very much (even though I don't really dig the slower tunes, but they were a nice change during the set), you should definitely give them a listen - and pay attention to her awesome screams =)

The acoustics at Poison the Well were pretty bad compared to The Dillinger Escape Plan, but the recording turned out quite ok. I'm sorry for the three insignificant cuts during the DEP set, the iAudio was acting a little weird.
Furthermore, I decided to leave out the "one-more-song"-choir after the last song which lasted about 3-4 minutes .. unfortunately they didn't play an encore.

Nevertheless, it was an intense show and I really enjoyed it. I hope you can relive at least a bit of the energy with his bootleg.

I split the songs (if the gap between two was too long and there was talking going on I made a single track) and tagged them .. the titles should be correct, if I mistagged something please let me know.
Thanks goes out to http://log.thedom.de, who had all three setlists so that I could make sure I got the songs right.

    Here they go:

Stolen Babies - 080313 Arena, Vienna

Poison The Well - 080313 Arena, Vienna

Dillinger Escape Plan, The - 080313 Arena, Vienna

    enjoy.

PS: after listening to the MP3s, I think that FLAC actually would show an improvement. but I'll let you decide.
PPS: as soon as the links are dead, please tell me. I won't be available in the next couple of days, so somebody could re-up it in the meantime I guess ..

    Board Up the House

During the last two months i've been listening to this extraordinary trio and i have to admit that full understanding of their music has not come yet.Probably the blending of of ambient, electronic,IDM with the controlled chaos of grind and mathcore musical forms is something is an effort never made before.(At least i've never heard anything like this before..).
It seems that Relapse Records-the legal government of contemporary extreme sound-made again its miracle. They signed these guys and once again fed our hears complex, yet meaningful music..

    02. Down - Over the Under | High on Fire - Death Is This Communion

    06. Crippled Black Phoenix - A Love of Shared Disasters | *shels - Sea Of The Dying Dhow

    07. Witchcraft - The Alchemist

    09. Oceans of Sadness - Mirror Palace | Samael - Solar Soul

    10. Neurosis - Given to the Rising | Bokor - Anomia1

    11. Between the Buried and Me - Colors | The End - Elementary

    15. The Ocean - Precambrian

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Ire Works
    Released: November 13
    Label: Relapse

  • New Loss of a Child album on Lost Children for free download

    15 Jul 2007, 13:03 de LossofaChild

The new Loss of a Child album can be downloaded for free from here.

‘Adam and Eve’ is the third Loss of a Child album and extends upon the subtle math rock, classical structures and epic melodies of the previous two albums. The blending of pianos and strings alongside the heavier guitar, bass and drums provide songs that will grow each time you listen to them, a sound that bring different instruments to the fore in different listening environments, dynamics that improve the sound of the album when played loud, a wall of sound unlike any other.

This is an album that requires many listens before all becomes apparent. Focusing on one instrument throughout a song will add another layer to a separate instrument and there is much to be heard and discovered, each layer making the song’s focus and harmonies clearer. Hope you all enjoy.

    Apologies for any ambition shown.

Fans of 65daysofstatic, Youthmovies, Russian Circles or Opeth should find some form of enjoyment from Loss of a Child.

You can also now download ‘Adam and Eve’ in full, as it was written and meant to be listened to, along with all other Loss of a Child albums in full from here.

Please spread the word if you enjoy.

    Thanks
