• Who else?

OK, so everyone in this group likes Flea. Who else do you like, as far as bassists go? Any other fans of Rocco Prestia or Larry Graham here?

Personally, my favorite bassist is Michael Manring.

    YES!!!!
  • Tim Commerford.

Good bassist, but I hate him for what he did to Pink Floyd.... The one that played with them on the Pulse Live DVD's really good: Anyway some of my favourites
    Jaco Pastorius
Phil Lynott (Lead Singer and Bassist of Thin Lizzy)
Timmy C. - Rage Against the Machine's bassists - he's a metal bassist with some funk in him. FINALLY!
Audioslave's bassist (Can't remember his name) is really cool too

Les Claypool: Primus, Colonel Les Claypools Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, Oysterhead, C2B3, Colonel Claypools Bucket of Bearnie Brains. Hes better then Flea, but Flea is just after him.

I know it's been a few months now, but the guy you're talking about is Billy Sheehan - An amazing solo bassist.

Other awesome solo bassists are Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Larry Graham and Stu Hamm (Joe Satriani's bassist).

But as far as bands go, I'm really having a hard time finding great bands with great bass players (other than RHCP).
